Mother
by Cory Carr

I don’t know anymore,
I don’t grow anymore,
I’d hide but it knows where to find me.

You taught me everything I know,
I never did listen though,
I apologize, you’ve aged so fast.

My memories used to be peaceful,
Now all to see is the awful,
I cry when I think of it all.

I’ve left you un guarded,
Taking in the fermented,
So scarce we have become.

I watch you wasting away,
Feelings so awkward but hey,
I love you,
So regrettably frail.
